D.W. Poppy Secondary School is proud to welcome international students from around the world, creating a vibrant learning environment where global perspectives are celebrated. Each year, students from countries including Mexico, Spain, Italy, Germany, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, and the People's Republic of China choose D.W. Poppy as their home away from home.

Our international students are valued members of the Poppy community and are supported both academically and socially throughout their educational journey. With dedicated teachers, counsellors, and support staff, students receive the guidance they need to succeed in the classroom and prepare for post-secondary opportunities. Many of our graduates have gone on to attend respected colleges and universities across Canada and the United States.

Building meaningful connections is an important part of the international student experience. Through our International Club, students participate in cultural celebrations, school activities, and community events while forming lasting friendships with Canadian students. The club is supported by domestic student mentors and experienced international student leaders who help new students adjust to life at D.W. Poppy and in Canada.

International students are also encouraged to take part in the many extracurricular opportunities available at the school, including athletics, fine arts, leadership, and clubs. Beyond the classroom, students can participate in district-organized excursions and travel experiences, allowing them to explore the natural beauty, culture, and history of British Columbia while creating unforgettable memories.
