Action Plan For Learning
R.E. MOUNTAIN SECONDARY SCHOOL ACTION PLAN 2025-202
6
Vision
Co-creating a community that strives towards excellence, and is inclusive, respectful, and engaging for all learners, especially our most vulnerable.
School Goals
Our Action Plan for Learning Goals are:
INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
LITERACY: Grade 9 and 10 students will be able to read and understand texts that correspond with their grade level in all subjects. They will demonstrate understanding of what they read by clearly explaining the main ideas and supporting details through written or oral communication. Their responses will use appropriate language conventions, aligned with their grade level or individual IEP/AIP goals. This goal aims to increase success on the Grade 10 Literacy Assessment, with 80% of students achieving a Level 3 or 4.
NUMERACY: Grade 9 and 10 students will use numeracy skills across curricular areas by working with numbers and data to solve real-life problems, aligned with their grade level or individual IEP/AIP goals. They will show their learning through projects and activities that integrate numeracy into a variety of subject areas. This goal aims to increase success on the Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment, with 60% of students achieving Level 3 or 4.
HUMAN & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
By June 2026, at least 85% of students will be able to identify peer groups, or adult connections that make them feel safe and supported, as measured by surveys, student voice initiatives, and participation in inclusive school activities.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT:
By the end of Grade 12, students will demonstrate readiness for post-graduation transition through the completion of a CAS Portfolio or Capstone project, with 100% of students being able to clearly articulate their post-secondary transition plans via student surveys and exit interviews.
