Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Langley Fundamental Elementary, a place where Home and School Working Together is more than a motto. It is the foundation of who we are and how we grow.

At LFES, we believe deeply that “all our kids are all our kids.” This shared responsibility shapes everything we do. As a learning community, we work collectively to ensure every child feels known, supported, and inspired academically, socially, and emotionally. Our goal is to make our school a warm, welcoming space where students feel they belong and where families feel connected and valued.

We are fortunate to have an exceptional staff, a team of educators who pour their hearts into teaching, encouraging, and championing every learner. They set high expectations for learning and behaviour while creating classrooms where curiosity is sparked, challenges are embraced, and students feel safe to take risks. Together, our staff is committed to preparing students not only for their next steps in school but for their next steps in life.

We also know that our school is strongest when families and staff work in partnership. Your involvement, whether through conversations at home, supporting classroom learning, or participating in school activities, deepens the connections that help children thrive. We encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities to engage with our school community throughout the year.

Our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) plays a vital role in this partnership. Meeting monthly, the PAC brings parents together to build community, support learning, and enrich school life. Their work supports special events, field trips, community building activities, and additional classroom and school resources. We are grateful for their leadership, time, and care, and we welcome all parents to join in. The more voices at the table, the stronger our community becomes.

Thank you for choosing to be part of Langley Fundamental Elementary. We look forward to a year of learning, connection, and growth together.

Warmly,
Casey Durnin
