Biomedical & Health Science
About the Program
The Langley School District (SD35), in partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), offers a full time four course dual credit Biomedical and Health Science program. In this program, students take first year English, Psychology and two Biology courses. This KPU Surrey Campus program offers SD35 students an opportunity to attend a semester of post-secondary studies while still in high school. Students earn dual credits for both high school and post-secondary courses.
Develop Professional Skills
- Examine the structure and function of tissues and body systems in a variety of organisms
- Perform a range of experimental procedures in the laboratory using microscopes
- Learn about the major organ systems of the human body responsible for support, movement, circulation, respiration and digestion
- Develop critical reading, analysis, critical thinking, and clear written expression
- Explore, assess, and respond to arguments and issues from across disciplines and relevant to contemporary cultures
- Discover psychological processes, such as the biological basis of behavior, sensation and perception, states of consciousness, learning, memory and intelligence
Requirements
- Be registered and currently attending a school in the Langley School District

Prerequisites
Have completed before the start of the program
- Grade 11
- C+ or higher in English 12
- B or higher in Biology 11
- B or higher in Chemistry 11
