EXTERNAL PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

2026-2027 NOIIE Inquiry Plan Submission | Network of Inquiry and Indigenous Education | Deadline November 15, 2026 | Submissions here
The Spiral of Inquiry provides the framework for Network schools to be curious about and (1) scan for what is going on for their learners, to develop a (2) focus for their team inquiry, to explore (3) hunches about what is leading to this situation (good and bad) for learners, to identify areas for (4) new learning, to (5) take action, and to (6) check how much difference these new actions are making to learners.
This Inquiry Plan Submission is based on the first four stages of the spiral of inquiry. The case study (submitted upon completion of this inquiry) will include a description of the actions you took throughout the year and the ways in which you checked to determine whether or not you made enough of a difference to your learners. Make sure you are clear on what indicators you will use during the checking phase well before you reach that stage.
In preparing your submission, please refer to The Spiral Playbook, the 4 Key Questions for Scanning and Checking, as well as other resources available on the NOIIE website – and please make sure to share these resources with your team members, particularly those who may be new to inquiry.

Cardiac Crash | Heart & Stroke | Video | Register
Did you know that 9 in 10 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests result in death? When a cardiac arrest happens, the person beside you may be your best chance of survival. That’s why we need to empower our students to step up, take action and help save lives. Give me 20 minutes and I’ll show you how CardiacCrash™ can help bring lifesaving CPR and AED skills to students across your schools.
CardiacCrash is a free Heart & Stroke program for students in Grade 7 and up. In less than one hour, students can learn how to perform CPR and use an AED, giving them skills that could make a difference in their schools, homes and communities. There is no cost and no fundraising required. And right now, there’s an added reason for schools to get involved. Schools participating in CardiacCrash have an opportunity to be entered into our draw for a chance to win one of five $1,000 Everything Gift Cards.
Their goal is bigger than teaching CPR, they want to create a generation of young people across Canada who have the confidence and skills to step forward when someone’s life is on the line.
