The criteria for admittance to the Emery Dosdall Secondary School Pre-IB Program are: 

• Successful completion of previous grade level 
• Teacher Recommendation 
• If entering at Grade 10, Pre-IB Math 9 or Math 10: Foundations and Pre-Calculus 10 completion prior to the Pre-IB 10 program start date (online, at summer school or as part of the REMSS Pre-IB program) 
• Completion of online application (open from January 7January 31, 2026 
• Copy of most recent report card

Course options for grade 9 Pre-IB Honours:

• Pre-IB Honours English 9 
• Pre-IB Honours Foundations Math and Pre-Calculus 9/10 (all of Math 9 and 2/3 of Math 10) 
• Pre-IB Honours French 9, Pre-IB Honours Spanish 9 or Pre-IB Honours Mandarin 9 
• Pre-IB Honours Social Studies 9/10 (all of Social Studies 9 and 1/3 of Social Studies 10) 
• Pre-IB Honours Science 9 
• P.H.E. and 2 elective choices

Course options for grade 10 Pre-IB Honours:

• Pre-IB Honours English First Peoples 10 
• Pre-IB Honours Pre-Calculus 11 (remaining 1/3 of Math 10 and all of Pre-Calculus 11) 
• Pre-IB Honours French 10, Pre-IB Honours Spanish 10 or Pre-IB Honours Mandarin 10 
• Pre-IB Honours Social Studies 10/11 (remaining 2/3 of Social Studies 10 and all of Social Studies 11) 
• Pre-IB Honours Science 10 P.H.E. 
• Career Life Education 10 and 1 elective choice

These courses will support both EDSS Advanced Placement courses and REMSS IB courses.
