The Advance Program at ACSS is an alternative education program designed to offer flexible and highly individualized support to our students. 

Enrollment in this program is through referral only. Any students or parents wishing to learn more about our program can speak with a support teacher, counsellor, or vice principal, and if appropriate we will direct you to next steps. 

Our program is supported by a full-time teacher, a resource support teacher, and a part-time SEA. Students in our program benefit from individualized schedules, increased access to support staff, targeted learning tailored to students’ interests and strengths, and reduced teacher-to-student ratios. 

We are equipped to offer all required classes for student graduation through our program, both core academics and some electives. This allows students in our program to take the necessary steps to get on track to graduate while receiving our support. 

We strive for our students to build independence and remain connected to the school, so many of our students will spend half their day in mainstream classes and half the day with us. Our overarching goal for our students is that they achieve enough independence to transition out of our program, either back into a full-time in-school schedule or through graduation.
