Administrative Update at Peter Ewart Middle School:
I would like to share an important update regarding administrative appointments within our school community and across the district.
Ms. Erin Favero has been appointed Principal of Peter Ewart Middle School, effective October 19, 2026. Ms. Favero is a familiar and valued member of our school community, currently serving as Vice-Principal at PEMS. She brings extensive experience from her previous roles as Vice-Principal at H.D. Stafford Middle School, District Teacher in the Instructional Services Department, Team Leader, and Classroom Teacher at Simonds, Peterson Road, and Uplands Elementary Schools. Ms. Favero is very excited to step into the role of Principal and continue her work with the Willoughby Slope Family of Schools.
Since early May 2026, Ms. Favero has been serving as Acting Principal at Glenwood Elementary School. She will remain in that role until October 19, 2026, at which time she will begin her principalship at PEMS.
I am also pleased to share that Mr. Mark Stanton has been appointed Vice-Principal of Peter Ewart Middle School. He brings strong leadership, experience, and a deep understanding of our school community. We are excited to welcome him into this role.
Finally, I would like to share that I have been assigned Principal of stɑtl̓əw̓ Middle School, effective October 19, 2026. I will continue in my role as Principal of Peter Ewart Middle School until that time. It has truly been a pleasure to serve this community over the past three years. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated staff, engaged students, and supportive families. The relationships built and the experiences shared at PEMS will always be meaningful to me.
While I am very excited to take on the opportunity and challenge of opening the district’s newest middle school, I remain fully committed to Peter Ewart Middle School and look forward to continuing our work together through the fall.
Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your ongoing support and partnership. Please join me in congratulating Ms. Favero and Mr. Stanton as they step into their new roles.
Warm regards,
Stephanie Labby
Principal
