Absences and Lates

To help us keep accurate attendance records for your child, we kindly ask that you always include your child’s first and last name, as well as their division and/or grade when communicating with the office.

With over 1,000 students in our school—and many sharing the same first name—this information is essential. Additionally, there may be times when a substitute office assistant is present who may not be as familiar with all students. Providing complete and clear information helps us serve you more efficiently and ensures your child’s records remain accurate. Thank you for your cooperation and support!

If your child is going to be absent, arriving late, away or leaving early due to an appointment, please notify the school of your child’s absence by doing either of the following

(please note: we experience a higher volume of calls between 8:00 and 9:00 am, 11:00 and 12:00pm and 2:00 and 2:30pm)

  1. E-mail:  pemattendance@sd35.bc.ca or  
  2. Call 778.726.4815 and follow the prompts for the attendance line and leave a message with information including: 
  • Student First Name and Last Name
  • Grade
  • Division
  • Length of Absence
  • Reason (illness, late, appointment, vacation)
  • Permission to walk home (if applicable)  


Dismissals

If your child will be leaving early, please email:  pemattendance@sd35.bc.ca including your child’s teacher with the above information.  Your child can then come to office and be ready for when you sign & pick them up. If you are giving permission for your child to walk home on their own, please state this in the email. If you would like them to meet you in the parking lot, please call the office 778-726-4815 to advise us of your arrival so we may send them out.

 

Student Missing Extended School Time

Please complete the Student Missig School Time Form, if your child will be away from school for an extended vacation, or a family leave (more than 2 weeks away).

Due to the ongoing enrollment pressures across the Langley School District, the District is unable to guarantee spots for students who choose to take an extended leave from their school. 

 

Moving/Withdrawing – PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE YOU MOVING

We ask that you please inform the school as soon as possible if/when your child will be leaving our school or not returning in the fall.
