Principal’s Message

Greetings students and parents,

Welcome all to Simonds/U-Connect!

As always, the staff at Simonds and U-Connect are excited for all of the wonderful things that we have planned for our students for the upcoming school year.  I am hopeful that together we can grow in our learning journey, from our early learners in Strong Start to our Grade 12 students, preparing to enter their last year of school.

At Simonds and U-Connect K-8, we are going to work on our literacy and numeracy skills this year, as well as more provide more opportunities to build on our social-emotional learning in the area of community!  We are hoping to build greater connections with the community we live in, and with the nature and land around us.

At U-Connect 9-12, staff are committed to providing even greater pathways of student agency, through our flexible and creative programming!  One of our big goals this year is around AT-HOME LEARNING.  We know that students have the opportunity to be more successful when they continue their engagement while at home--this is a key element to our learning program at U-Connect.  Students who wish to be successful need to plan to do their work at home as well as at school.  We are so proud of our upcoming Grads of 2026; and we look forward to this year and the fantastic goals that we KNOW you will achieve.

I am thrilled to be continuing with Simonds and U-Connect for this school year, and I want to encourage all of our parents and families to get involved with school, whether it’s a few hours here or there for field trips or volunteer reading in our classrooms–or, even joining our PACs.  We are proud to be the partners of our families in their child’s educational journey; and expect this coming year to be amazing!

All my best,

Mrs. Michelle Allen, Principal

Our Mission:

The mission of the Langley School District is “to inspire all learners to reach their full potential and create a positive legacy for the future”. As a school we have focused on a simple social-emotional motto for our students and staff to aid in this mission. Simply put, it is to “Be Kind”. Through kindness, we at Simonds/U-Connect aim to create a safe and caring environment that helps students grow and develop to reach their personal best. We believe school should be a fun place with a serious purpose. Through a wide array of curricular and and extra-curricular activities, it’s our desire that every student feels a sense of belonging and is engaged in their education.
