TEDxLangleyED: Once Again an Awesome Day

The fifth year of TEDxLangleyED focused on the theme of Connect. All of the speakers and presentations excelled in sharing their stories that explored ways in which we all can connect with the community to make a difference.

Topics included navigating challenges with respect to the digital world, the importance of social connection, training in how to give, lessons with respect to resiliency, and the power of nature to make us wonder. Langley was well represented in terms of presenters, and the audience was able to take in the amazing voice of former Langley Fine Arts student Kristin Carter. Kudos to Tanner Welton, a grade 8 student who had the courage to get on stage and remind us to pay attention to what really matters in life. The performance by Chang’s TaeKwonDo Martial Arts group was also an outstanding demonstration of their physical feats and commitment to their craft.

My thanks to all of the organizers to make this day happen. In particular, Maria LaRose in supporting the presenters, Ngaire Leaf for taking care of all the organizational details, and Kim Anderson along with John Pusic for their leadership.  A truly inspirational day!
