Outstanding Day of Professional Development

The provincial professional development day on October 19th once again afforded the opportunity for administrators, teachers, and support staff to enhance their learning. I am very appreciative of the significant number of staff that led sessions in Langley throughout the day. We have an incredibly strong group of educators within our District that are always willing to share ideas.

I was able to attend the annual Kindergarten conference that was hosted once again at Brookswood secondary school. Thanks to the Brookswood admin team and many of their admin colleagues from around the district that assisted with morning parking and registration. This conference always has a great atmosphere. Charlotte Diamond who is regular attendee commented that it is one of her favourite professional learning events. High praise indeed!

I was also fortunate to attend the conference on Social and Emotional Learning held at the Langley Events Centre. This aspect of learning continues to be a central focus in the District to insure that each child and staff member has their social and emotional needs met in order to be successful. Well done by all of the presenters.

I only wish I could have attended the wide variety of other sessions offered that day including Non Violence Crisis Interveniton, Aboriginal Learning, and My Blueprint.
