Langley Schools Host Memorable Remembrance Day Ceremonies
I had the pleasure of attending the Blacklock Fine Arts elementary school Remembrance Day ceremony. All students took part as presenters, dancers, and choir members in a very moving tribute to those that have served and continue to serve in the Canadian armed forces . This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One and all of the Langley schools acknowledged this milestone in addition to those that have sacrificed their lives in the service of their country. I am always impressed with the respectful conduct of our students as they take part or sit as audience members in these ceremonies. This year Langley Fine Arts school students created 3,598 ceramic poppies in honour of the Canadian lives lost in the courageous battle of Vimy Ridge – a very moving display in their art gallery.
