Keeping Kids Safe – A Brochure for Parents of Students in Grades K-12 was developed by the Ministry of Education to support the cultivation of positive school cultures and to help schools engage parents in maintaining optimal learning environments for student achievement.

Call it Safe (elementary) – A parent guide for dealing with bullying in elementary schools. Description: A guide for parents of elementary school students and Parent Advisory Council (PAC) leaders. It will:

  • answer some of the questions you may have about bullying, and give you information about what you need to know and do to help your children
  • provide information that you and your PAC can use to work with your school to help ensure that the school is safe.
  • This guide is also useful to others who wish to understand parents’ views on bullying, and help to raise awareness and promote effective programs.

Call it Safe (Secondary) – A parent guide for dealing with harassment and intimidation in secondary schools. It will:

  • answer some of the questions you may have about harassment and intimidation, and give you information about what you need to know and do to help your children
  • provide information that you and your PAC can use to work with your school to help ensure that the school is safe.
  • This guide is also useful to others associated with the public school system who wish to understand parents’ perspectives on harassment and intimidation, and engage parents’ help in raising awareness and promoting effective awareness, prevention, intervention and protection programs.
