Ignite a lifelong passion. Be a part of the Langley Symphony Orchestra (LSO). The LSO is expanding its string section. We are accepting applications for Cello, Double Bass, Viola and Violin. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. beginning in Fall 2019. The location is to be determined. String players interested in joining this ensemble should have a minimum of 3 – 5 years playing experience. Wind and percussion players must be recommended by their high school music teacher. Background

The Langley Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is in its fourth year as an orchestral ensemble and has already played significant repertoire at a high level. It was created in 2016 with the intention of providing opportunities for string players in Langley to play in a full symphony orchestra. Students receive a B.C. Ministry of Education credit. The program is offered at no charge to high school students. We have blended the Kwantlen University Strings and skilled community members into this ensemble to create a well-instrumented, full, symphony orchestra (strings, winds and percussion). As a full orchestra we are able to play great iconic repertoire.

The orchestra is conducted by Langley Fine Arts music teacher Rob Goddard.
