The Langley School District Career Education Department welcomes opportunities to partner with local businesses and community organizations in achieving one very important goal: preparing our youth for the future.
There are two fantastic opportunities for community employers and businesses to become partners in education – Work Experience and Youth WORK in Trades.
Work Experience is a partnership between Langley businesses and schools. It is designed to prepare students for the transition from school to the workplace by integrating classroom preparation with practice experience. Students spend 90+ hours at the work placement in addition to acquiring valuable employment skills.
Youth WORK in Trades
Youth WORK in Trades provides skill development through practical, hands-on work experience within the skilled trades and technical careers. Students enrolled in this program have the chance to go to work and attend high school at the same time. Students that are 15 or older may enrol in this program and must also become indentured with the Industry Training Authority as Youth Apprentices.
