Langley School Board Approves New Strategic Plan
Langley, BC – The Langley Board of Education has has approved a new four-year Strategic Plan. The new Strategic Plan will be upheld by the Board for the years 2015-2019 and outlines broad goals and steps that will be implemented to reach those goals.
Under the scope of the 2012-2015 Strategic Plan, the Board has been provided updates and reports on various milestones within the document. In the 2015-2019 iteration of the Strategic Plan goals have been updated with more progressive objectives as many targets and goals from the 2012-2105 document have been approached, achieved or surpassed.
The vision statement of the Langley School District is to be an innovative, inspiring and unified learning community. Built upon the foundation of the Langley School District’s vision and sub-themes, the Strategic Plan provides details on the direction and priorities of the District and the Board. High-level focus areas have been identified under each of the sub-themes and more detailed actions will be identified, enacted upon and, when completed, reported to the Board of Education. A summary report of each year’s progress will be brought forward to the Board at the final Strategic Plan Committee Meeting of the school year.
Superintendent Suzanne Hoffman said in her report to the Board, “The new Strategic Plan will not only serve the students, staff and the community well but fully aligns with the District’s vision statement”.
The 2015-2019 Strategic Plan covers a four-year span to enable an overlap between currently serving Board Trustees and those elected to the next term of office.
