Willoughby decks all the halls

Glow may be a sensational winter activity for many families in the Lower Mainland, and it seems they now have a rival in the Langley School District! Willoughby Elementary has spent the last week setting up incredible Christmas decorations and lights in all the hallways of their school.
The tradition goes back several years. It was the brainchild of a few of the teachers there, including the, now retired, music teacher, Bill Herrington. Teachers and staff take a week of their spare time to decorate all the halls with lights, garland, baubles and other decorations. The collection has been put together by donation over the last few years.
It’s a team effort, and even Bill Herrington made a return this year to help with the set-up.
Teachers and staff take ownership of each hallway. Some, such as Candy Land are themed areas. The main hallway towards the gym is the most intricately designed, so that when parents walk down it towards the school’s Christmas concert next week, they get the full, glowing experience.
