Remembrance Day in Langley

November 8, 2018

Schools around the district have been holding ceremonies for Remembrance Day today.

Students at Blacklock Fine Arts Elementary staged several musical and dramatic performances. All grades within the school participated. There was a shadow play to music, interpretive dance, choir songs, and poetry recitals.

Several staff, and volunteers, including an RCMP representative, were present to perform ceremonial music as well as take part in the ceremonies.

At Langley Fine Arts in Fort Langley, over 280 grades 8-12 Fine Arts students created over 3000 ceramic poppies. They are now on display in the Mary Pratt Gallery in the school. They are accompanied by various other poppy art constructed by the younger fine arts students.
