Information About School Status During Inclement Weather Snow closures and power outages are an annual occurrence in Langley School District. So where do you go to get information about the status of schools during periods of inclement weather? If you have power in your home and an Internet connection, current information about Langley schools can be accessed at www.sd35.bc.ca. Click on the “School Status/Closures” QuickLink. If you don’t have connectivity, but your phone is working, call a relative or friend in an area that has not been affected by the storm and ask them to check the district web site for you. Current information is also posted on Langley School District’s Information Hotline at 604-532-1453. (Do not hang up if your call is not connected right away). Local radio stations are also informed of school status in Langley. Tune in to CKWX 1130 AM, CKNW 980 AM, Country Radio 107.1 FM or CBC 690 AM for updates.

The staff and students of Alice Brown are pleased to welcome you to our school website. We are excited to be continuing in our pursuit of excellence socially, physically and academically. In the past few years we increased our use of technology with COWS (Computers on Wheels), a SMARTboard, projectors and creative staff members. We have designed a new music room and enhanced our music program. Currently we are working on Reading as an academic goal and focusing on Restorative Action to further build a warm, welcoming and safe environment to learn in.  We invite you to read through the staff list to acquaint yourself with our names. Our Grade Sixes and Sevens – Our older students delight in being leaders and helping others.  If you can come in, throughout the day, you can hear them reading with buddies, making announcements, serving as monitors in the office, peer tutoring, monitoring classrooms, helping out on the playground, etc. 

 

Our PAC - We have an active and very supportive PAC who enthusiastically welcome new members and constantly search for new ways to support the Alice Brown community.  Our thanks go out to the parents who give their time, money and expertise to our school.  Your contributions are making a difference in the lives of our children.
